Our dedicated board members volunteer countless hours ALL year round, engaging in event organizing, fundraiser planning, community outreach, and essential paperwork. They also focus on certifications and workshops to ensure that River Grove Youth Football operates in accordance with the highest standards. Their commitment is vital to the continued success and growth of our program. Together, we strive to create a positive enriching experience for all our young athletes.
**The RGB is governed by bylaws and managed by a Board of Directors. Members of the RGB—including athletes, parents, guardians, coaches, team managers, and other relevant parties—are invited to attend our Board of Directors meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM from December to August and at 8:30 PM from September to November.

Founder & President
Giovanni Colon
Giovanni’s passion for football began as a standout quarterback in middle and high school, later reignited through his son’s entry into youth football. While volunteering as an Assistant Coach and managing behind-the-scenes operations for four years in another organization, he witnessed a troubling lack of structure, accountability, and opportunity. Driven to make a difference, Giovanni founded the River Grove Bears! Set out to build what was missing: a high-caliber, elite football organization rooted in excellence, discipline, and opportunity.
With over a decade of experience as a successful entrepreneur and a high-level IT Executive, Giovanni brings unmatched expertise in business strategy, operations, and innovation. His leadership ensures the Bears are not only competitive on the field but also efficient and forward-thinking off of it. From building the organization’s website himself to assembling a strong board of directors, Giovanni’s hands-on approach reflects his deep commitment to providing a premier experience for young athletes and their families across River Grove and surrounding communities.

The Volunteer Services Manager plays a crucial role in distributing the rules set forth by the league and organization. This individual ensures that teams, coaches, and players adhere to these guidelines and uphold the organization's ethics. Additionally, the Volunteer Services Manager is tasked with maintaining the parent code of conduct form and ensuring that all completed forms are properly filed. Together, they help foster a positive and respectful environment within the organization.

Dee is a pioneering force in youth football, recognized as one of the first female coaches in the sport and widely respected for her ability to lead with confidence, strategy, and heart. Alongside her wife Tina and their son—who proudly plays for the River Grove Bears—Dee embodies the spirit of family, community, and unwavering dedication.
Beyond the field, Dee serves as a Senior Director in her professional career, bringing a wealth of experience in operations and strategic management. Her dedication and leadership play a critical role in the seamless execution of our programs, helping drive the organization forward with purpose and efficiency. Dee’s contributions are not only essential, they set the standard.
